About me
I am…
Steven Verdonck, already surviving 22 springtimes, graduated as a special educationalist or social worker, still student – but this time social and cultural anthropology, positive minded, short-sighted (that with the eyes, hopefully not the other meaning), from time to time very lazy, a diehard postponer, owner of rebellious darkblond curly hair and proud at my lefthandedness
I love…
the world and its variation of people and animals (and plants too of course), beautiful travels, wide mountainous landscapes, the fascination of nature, the exploration of culture, anything that can or should be eaten, traditional Japanese martial arts, photography, bonnie auld Scotland, sleeping late, entertaining kids on Kazou summer camps, life
I justifiably detest…
the manual transportation of Christmas trees, the daily cleaning of the bathroom, getting up, having taken blood samples, too voluminous course books, road hogs and speed merchants, rooms filled with smothering smoke of cigarettes with an acute lack of oxygen as a logical consequence, ‘land of plenty’ sun-sea-beach-holidays, coffee, the feeling of being hungry, illicitly thrown away litter and the cold water of a shower which has just been turned on
I like listening to…
exciting stories of interesting people, music as made by The Killers, The Kooks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Muse, The Strokes, Eels, The Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, Damien Rice and other music as performed by Gorki, Bart Peeters, Pieter Embrechts and a bit of authentic tradition as there is folk, ‘kleinkunst’, Ceilidh
I like reading…
historical thrillers, non-fiction, travel/road stories,
famous classics, controversial work, etnographies and National Geographic Magazine
I am concerned about…
the future of our world and its inhabitants, the continuing ‘acidification’ of society, pushed-through capitalistic actions with just the aim of excluding weaker concurrents, namely entrepreneurs and farmers from the Third World from the market and from a dignified existence, my exams
I strongly believe that…
people sometimes are just too easily judged and condemned by others, serious actions should be taken to lower the continuing global heating, the permission to smoke should be restricted to the private and even then only with the unanimous approval of all who are present, the world famous ‘dag van de onnozele kinderen’ should definitively and officially be changed into ‘dag van de onschuldige kinderen’ (I do have my own reasons…), young people not only have to be able to but even should be idealistic and the endless battle of making Belgian fries more healthy is totally justifiable, worth spending money at and seen as highest priority of the Belgian government so I can eat more of them in the future
I would like to…
make the world a better place, make a travel around the world, climb high summits, find a good and pleasant job with too much holidays, have talent for music (unfortunately…), stay happy
I made this website in order to…
bore people to death with my unbelievably erudite reports and postings
, drown people in the mass of uploaded pictures and maybe more important: to have the feeling that I can give something to the world from/about myself and my interests
